Philosophy of Teaching Statement
Charles W. Gravelle
In becoming a teacher it is my goal to ensure that my students can leave each class feeling rewarded, encouraged and more enlightened then when they first entered. The classroom environment will be one of support and growth that will extend to everyone. No student should ever feel out of place if they are ahead or behind their peers. As they learn from me I will have a better understanding of their developmental needs, adapting to the specific level of my students so that each child receives individualized attention.
The objectives of the classroom will be presented in a clear fashion to students, parents and administrators. Pressure will not be high, however, expectations will be and this drive will yield an outstanding performance from the students. I hope to impart skills for learning and citizenry that will continue to support them even when outside of the school; that they may be ambitious, curious, polite, and motivated.
